Wave W1b is Currently in the Field

The second partial wave W1b of FReDA has been in the field since 4 November 2021. The response period will run until 9 January 2022.

For the second partial wave of FReDA, 26,625 people all over Germany were contacted. They have the opportunity to participate in a self-administered interview for the study. FReDA offers mixed modes: Participants can decide, if they want to complete an online questionnaire (CAWI) or a paper questionnaire (PAPI). So far, around 15,500 fully completed interviews have been returned.

The response rates for FReDA collections have been very good thus far: In the recruitment wave conducted in spring 2021, the unadjusted rate was more than 35 per cent. The first partial wave, W1a, of FReDA conducted in summer 2021 was also very successful, with a preliminary re-survey rate of about 78 per cent. We hope to achieve similar values for the second sub-wave W2b.

For the longitudinal data collection, FReDA surveys residents in Germany between the ages of 18 and 49. After six months, the same people are surveyed again. The survey data is anonymized and available for free for research. The data are internationally comparable and make long-term and dyadic analyses possible.
