Birth rates and the desire to have children, life satisfaction in times of crisis, loneliness in Germany and the ‘BiB.Monitor Wellbeing 2024’ - FReDA presented current analyses and research findings as well as political recommendations for action at the ‘FReDA informs’ event in Berlin. The short presentations and subsequent discussions offered political stakeholders the opportunity to quickly obtain focussed information on current research findings based on the representative FReDA surveys. Participation was possible both on site in Berlin and via video conference.
Current social developments and demographic trends were addressed and analysed in these presentations:
On 21 October 2024, around 60 people from political Berlin took the opportunity to find out about current social developments on the basis of FReDA's large, representative data set and to hear the non-partisan conclusions from the scientific community. The short, to-the-point presentations provided data-based input that could be further explored in a subsequent Q&A session. The focussed event is very well received by politicians as a source of serious background information.
‘FReDA informs’ is an ongoing series of events in which researchers present their latest findings based on FReDA data. The speakers discuss the political implications and the need for action arising from their research. The next ‘FReDA informs’ event is planned for 13 November 2025.
The series is aimed at representatives from politics, administration and civil society. The project last reported in this series under the title ‘Loneliness has increased in younger and middle-aged adults’. You can download the analyses presented in this policy brief here.
