Very strong participation in the second partial wave of FReDA: We received 20,258 fully completed interviews. This included 17,283 CAWI interviews. A further 2,975 PAPI questionnaires were returned to the project by mail.
For the second partial wave of FReDA, 26,625 people throughout Germany were contacted. From November 4, 2021 to January 31, 2022, they had the opportnity to take part in the study through a self-administered interview. FReDA offered a mixed mode for this: Participants could decide if they wanted to complete an online questionnaire (CAWI) or a paper questionnaire (PAPI).
The response rates for all the FReDA data collections have been very good thus far: In the recruitment wave conducted in spring 2021, the unadjusted response rate was more than 35%. This means that more than a third of the people contacted participated in the survey. The first partial wave, W1a, of FReDA conducted in summer 2021 was also very successful, with a preliminary re-survey rate of about 78%. We are pleased that we were again able to achieve very good rates for the second sub-wave W1b.
For the longitudinal data collection, FReDA surveys residents in Germany between the ages of 18 and 49. After six months, the same people are surveyed again. The survey data is anonymised and available for free for research. The data are internationally comparable and make long-term and dyadic analyses possible.
